The New Look

We’ve picked a facade for our new home, and it will look a bit like this:

We are pouring over all the fine print and legalese, transferring funds around, and with a little luck should have deposits in place and contracts signed around the time we digest all our Thanksgiving turkey!

We own some dirt!

Yesterday we officially started the process of relocating the PatandMeg.com world headquarters! It doesn’t look like much at this point, but with a little luck we’ll be moving in July down to Baxter Village in South Carolina.

I just posted pictures of my weekend motorcycle/camping trip with my buddy Steve here:

In addition, Meghan and I have been exploring a new home for PatandMeg.com, and made some house hunting progress over the weekend. Pictures of that trip, which include a model of the home we like, some shots of the area and perhaps even our future lot are here:

The Big News

Friday, 3 November 2006 13:56

I’ve been alluding to some news in the last several posts, and did not want to post anything here until all arrangements were finalized. After a couple of months of back and forth with various lawyers and editors, I have a book deal with John Wiley & Sons, one of the world’s leading business book publishers.

I wish I could say I was writing the great American novel, or some profound treatise on world events, but I am penning Breakthrough IT: Supercharging Organizational Growth through Technology, a book related to the work my company does in helping corporations use their IT departments to generate monetary returns, rather than just being another large cost line on the P&L.

During all the negotiations I’ve been merrily writing away, and have completed approximately 18,000 words out of the 50,000 I am signed up to write. The book is scheduled for a Fall or Winter 2007 release, so hopefully next year I’ll be announcing that it has hit bookshelves!
