Wedding
Jeff and Sara tie the knot!
Meghan and I just returned from Troy, NY where our friends Jeff and Sara were married last night. It was quite a party and a good time was had by all. We’re glad that Jeff and Sara are now “official” so we have more married friends to hang out with! Pictures are here: 1688
STILL Waiting for Wedding Photos
I received an email from our photographer Jorg, who as of late has been nearly as scarce as the elusive giant squid. He claims our wedding proofs will be here within 3-5 business days (this email is from 2 business days ago) so we are waiting with baited breath. I believe he’ll be putting the … Continue reading
Pictures!
I have the first cut at our new photo gallery software up and running! The layout will likely be changing in the near future, but for the time being, you can click over to our photo gallery to see our Anguillan diving pictures! I’ll be adding other honeymoon pictures shortly. Enjoy!
We’re Back!
After battling baggage handers in JFK and the mysterious non-appearing car home, we’re back in Westchester. There are still boxes and suitcases everywhere to unpack, but we’ve vowed to continue our “honeymoon” for at least the next 100 years We’ll be posting some honeymoon pictures, as well as a link to the wedding photos once … Continue reading
Tranquility Wrapped in Blue
After an amazing wedding, we cleared out of the Murray Hill Inn with the rest of the troupe around 11AM and made our way back to our apartment. A quick session of packing, last minute bill paying and closing down the house, and we were off to the St. Regis in Manhattan for an evening … Continue reading
Viva Las Vegas!
That dark cloud on the horizon to the West is not a thunder storm, it’s the forces of evil gathering as friends from around the country plan their descent on Las Vegas. Lock up the children, small arms and midgets, as my official bachelor fiesta is on the calendar! Planning for the event began shortly … Continue reading
Ring(s) in the New Year
A couple of weeks ago, Meghan joined me in Chicago to see the town and enjoy some company-financed fun. Aside from horrible colds, which I have yet to recover from, we also brought back something far more exciting: our wedding rings! We visited Chicago?s jeweler?s row, only to discover that jewelers seem to have quite … Continue reading
Meghan Meets Marisa
I made an exciting and momentous purchase today at the Stamford Bridal Suite: my wedding dress! After many weekends of trying on dresses of all styles and prices, I finally made a decision?a Marisa gown after all. Interestingly, the dress that I chose was very similar to one of the dresses that I initially found … Continue reading
P – A – R – T – Y
This weekend marks the start of “official” wedding festivities, in the form of an Engagement Party, thrown by the mother of the bride-to-be. The two families will be getting together along with friends and relatives. Meghan and I will be taking my family around to see the reception hall live and in person, as well … Continue reading
We Have a Church! We Have a Church!
After striking out with three of Jesus? franchises, we finally have found the proverbial ?holy grail? and are on the calendar at St. Patrick?s Church in Newark, NJ! Thanks to Meghan?s grandmother, one big item can now be checked off our wedding to-do list. We also had a ?test run? of our eventual wedding invitation … Continue reading
Wedding Progress!
After several weeks of roadblocks, we are finally moving forward with our wedding plans. I’ve been in contact with the world famous DJ Grand Marquis (how can you argue with a DJ named after a family sedan!) and we’re looking forward to seeing him in action before signing him on to spin the wheels of … Continue reading
You’re Out!
We’ve officially struck out with our third Church. The “Church of the Little Flower,” while more polite with Meghan and telling her to “go with God,” does not care to play host to our big day. The recurring theme seems to be that you have to have a close relative who is active in the … Continue reading
Just Don’t Call Me Late for Dinner!
Meghan and I had a good laugh from this guestbook entry (look for entry seven). I’ve been called a lot of things, but never mistaken for a cartoon starfish! Upon further research of this “Patrick” character, I was a little sad to learn he is “not the brightest of sea life” but was pleased to … Continue reading
Strike Two
I finally spoke with someone in some kind of position of authority at St. Genevieve’s, and I’m sorry to report this was our second strike with the Catholic Church. I had high hopes as I dialed the number for the Church, and instead of the answering machine that’s never answered, I got the “handler” I … Continue reading
Is there a Father in the House?
After the saga with the Newark Cathedral, we thought we?d try a smaller church, and picked one where Meghan had her first communion. We assumed there would be no wedding planner to deal with, no exorbitant fees and hopefully a minimum of rules and requirements. All these things may or may not be true, but … Continue reading

The First Purchase
Only a few days after our engagement, Meghan and I made our first wedding related purchase. The wedding books and websites advise buying planning kits, calendars and all the latest wedding magazines, however, still in the throes of post-engagement bliss, the only logical first purchase was, of course, two Italian champagne flutes! During a visit … Continue reading
Parents, Meet the Parents
Today is the big day that the Estradas meet the Grays for the first time. Despite Meghan and I being together for almost three years, the 250-odd miles between Massachusetts and New Jersey have prevented our families from meeting until now. Hopefully there will be no reenactments of Meet the Parents, although I’m sure the … Continue reading
JC’s Little Helper
After several days of waiting, the “wedding planner” at the Newark Cathedral has responded to our inquiry. It’s sad to see that even the Catholic Church has jumped on the suck-all-the-life-out-of-young-couples bandwagon, and set the princely sum of $2000 for the privilege of having your wedding at the Newark Cathedral. My favorite part is that … Continue reading
