Moving
Granite State of Mind
With the closing of our old house behind us, and the completion of our new construction several months away we are heading to NH in the meantime. Thanks to the generosity of the inlaws, we’ll be staying in their vacation house near North Conway NH. Thanks to Greg Antman for bringing this great parody to … Continue reading
Getting Loaded
My parents came to visit this weekend as a pit stop during their annual escape to Florida from the snowy confines of the northeast. My dad was kind enough to help me schlep some boxes, and it is starting to feel like real progress is being made on the packing front. Here’s our stuff’s home … Continue reading
SOLD!
It’s become official! Meghan will have a full report shortly:
Unpacking…
As part of our crazy moving schedule I’m migrating much of our technological infrastructure from our “data center” (more commonly known as a closet) to hosted services. PatandMeg.com has “come out of the closet” and is now on a new server. As part of the transition, we’ll eventually change themes and get this place back … Continue reading
Movers and Shakers
We are nearing the final countdown to our move, and updates have been a little sparse here lately since so much has been happening. I started a new gig in Dallas which has me back on the planes, trains and automobiles, and an hour off of east coast time. On the house front, Meghan and … Continue reading
More House Pictures!
I just returned from a visit to Charlotte, and managed to wade through the floodwaters of New York to post updated pictures. Enjoy! /homeconstruction/april13
New Home Pictures
Meghan and I are now down in Charlotte, and visited the house yesterday. Although all was quiet, there has been significant progress since the last visit. Pictures are below: /homeconstruction/feb18
Another trip to Charlotte
Tomorrow morning we’re heading south once again to check on the house and do some more meetings with the builders. I spoke with the builder yesterday and apparently the roof is complete, and electric, plumbing and HVAC are going in this week. They supposedly had some trouble with some of the roof trusses not being … Continue reading
Home Pics
I went by the site of our future home today and took some pictures. The small army of builders has made very impressive progress since we last saw a pile of dirt with some stakes in the ground. Enjoy the pictures: 1748
High Speed Burn #1
I made a run down from the Philly area, where I was at a client site, to Charlotte last night, pulling into the hotel around 1AM. Being in Philly on a Friday is generally unusual at this client, and it gets me two hours closer to our homesite, so I decided to swing on down … Continue reading
Tomorrow is D-Day, or shall I say B-Day!
Tomorrow is a big day for the masterminds behind patandmeg.com: the friendly crews in Baxter start building our house! It’s very exciting to know that tomorrow marks the beginning of our countdown to moving south this summer.  The construction is slated to take about five months, meaning that if all (meaning the weather and the … Continue reading
The New Look
We’ve picked a facade for our new home, and it will look a bit like this: 1746 We are pouring over all the fine print and legalese, transferring funds around, and with a little luck should have deposits in place and contracts signed around the time we digest all our Thanksgiving turkey!
We own some dirt!
Yesterday we officially started the process of relocating the PatandMeg.com world headquarters! It doesn’t look like much at this point, but with a little luck we’ll be moving in July down to Baxter Village in South Carolina. Our future home: 1734
