One of the fun things about having a new house is the ever-growing roster of friends and family that want to come and visit. Our first guest was my friend Greg, who made an appearance shortly after we moved in and was treated to an air mattress, rocking chair and otherwise empty house. Meghan’s sister arrived next to some slightly upgraded facilities, including a real bed and an outdoor table.
This past weekend, Meghan’s parents arrived, and each day some new accouterments would arrive, from chair cushions and towels to bathroom decorations. They topped off their visit in style, with a pig roast on Saturday. We had a near-capacity crowd, with 13 Cubans, a soon-to-be-roasted 32 lb. pig and I. We had a great time, and Meghan and I now have an “official” pig roasting box of our own.
This weekend, my parents make the trip down to see the house and the Carolinas. Anyone else up for a visit?
