More on the Flood
Monday, 16 April 2007 08:33We’re usually not much for current events here on PatandMeg.com, but the recent storm and ensuing flooding has hit, shall we say, close to home. Yesterday we posted some pictures and felt smug in our car being high and dry, and hoping that the waters would recede by morning. Well, they ended up rising, to the point where Meghan’s engine block was nearly in the water. We were able to move our car to higher ground, but as this new set of pictures shows, several people were not so lucky.
Our neighbors across the street have water up to their first floor, and the next door neighbors have five feet of water in their basement. Living on the 3rd floor never looked so good! Needless to say, Meghan and I are staying home today rather than risk adding two more cars to the waters that have already claimed 2 Audis, a Jaguar and a Grand Caravan. More pictures of the action:

For the record, no! Just because I am Cuban does not mean that I know how to survive, or escape from a flood. Actually, maybe….I was thinking of trying to make some kind of a raft out of a cooler, but Pat discouraged me!
I heard that when you drink Red Bull you get wings, does that mean all I need to get out of this house is a little red can?
Well the waters have subsided and aside from some ugly traffic, things are more or less back to normal. The Jaguar that is seen stuck in one of the pictures was still sitting in the middle of the road this morning when I left for work, but was gone in the evening.
Enough news… now back to our regular programming!
